Olivia Jean O'Donery, age 78, a former resident of Sioux Falls, SD; Grafton, OH; and Mt. Airy, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Olivia was born on November 25, 1942, to the late Joseph and Verna (née Alderman) Donery in San Diego, CA.

A memorial mass will be held in Danbury, IA at a later date.

Olivia obtained her master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from Cleveland State University. She will be remembered as a woman who dedicated her life to advocating for the welfare of those in need, whether it be abused children; those in the community in which she lived; or an animal in distress. Her parting words might be, "always keep dog treats and a leash handy".

Olivia is survived by her two daughters, Shawn Desmond (née Zellmer) and Paula Kramp (née Zellmer); brother, Douglas Donery; sister, Catherine Cooksley; granddaughter Allyson Ryan; and three grandsons, Brian Kramp, Joseph Kramp, and Steven Kramp.

Along with her parents, Olivia was preceded in death by her brother, David Donery, and Mary Alice Donery, her beloved aunt.

In lieu of flowers, Olivia would ask that you adopt a shelter animal in need. Otherwise, memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
